Where can you access SIL & SDA in Western Sydney? What is the difference?

SIL is a NDIS support in the assistance with daily life support category. It is designed to help you live in your home as independently as possible. This means if you have a disability and higher support needs, and as a result need a significant amount of help, our support workers come and help you. They can even stay overnight.

If you need SIL & SDA in Western Sydney, give us a call so we can assist you. We can help with:

  • personal care such as laundry, showering and dressing
  • cooking meals
  • domestic assistance like cleaning,
  • shopping
  • mowing your lawn

You can get SIL if you live on your own and if you live with other NDIS participants.

Adiba Care provides SIL accommodation at a beautiful acreage site with 24-hour care and a registered nurse on-site. The premises is equipped with medical beds, hoists and all amenities for maximum safety and comfort. We also provide respite care.

If your funding includes SIL, you also have funding for a support coordinator. Our support coordinators can help you with the details of your support such as developing a roster of care submission with you.

Who is SDA for?

Some people living with disability have high support needs. This could mean they need to live in a specially designed house so called specialist disability accommodation (SDA). These houses or units are designed so that residents can live more independently. They also allow other supports to be delivered better or more safely.

SDA usually involves a shared home with a few other people. You might also be able to live in SDA by yourself if that option best meets your needs and circumstances.

SDA funding includes the cost of the home or building you live in. Usually, you will still need to pay rent or other personal costs to live in SDA. It is important to know that it does not include the services or support you might get in your home. There are other funding options to cover these.

At Adiba Care we provide SDA for eligible participants in Western Sydney.

More information about SDA and eligibility is in the SDA Operational Guideline.
